In real world, I don’t like lizards. I have tried many times but I noticed that I can’t like lizards in any case. It seems in chess engine world the story is completely different. I really like this engine. It plays and evaluates fantastic. It also has very aggressive style. Beautiful play style. Finally there is a lizard in this world that I can like it.

I remember you said you liked Swordfish the best, I have never tried lizard, but I think it is hard to be as good as Swordfish 15.5. What do you think?

Hi
As you know swordfish belongs to stockfish family engines and it is stronger than lizard. Both engines play really beautiful chess and not boring chess. Let’s me mention to some of lizard advantages :
1- lizard is the second aggressive engine after stockfish among top engines according to Stefan Pohl test. Which is very very important factor.
2- lizard can evaluate positions very well and correct since version 11. For example Alexandria is very strong engine at engines tournaments but it’s evaluation is really terrible and the worst evaluation among top engines.
3- lizard can play chess 960. For example Obsidian is very strong engine but it can’t support chess 960. And you can’t practice chess 960 with it. So obsidian is not a complete package yet.
4- since version 11 lizard uses the NNUE net of it’s own self play.
5- lizard is strong enough for all group of advance human players too.
Let’s return to your question. Swordfish is a stopped project now but lizard in on the way of progress. So if I want to choose between them I prefer to use the engine that I would have the next updates. And I prefer lizard( just my opinion).
