Ohh I thought that by mentioning default settings of engines will clear out the other questions for example ponder etc. Nothing that doesn't come with the engines was used (UCI options were not changed apart from exp feature only).
Well,
Now is more clear.. but not 100%
Rather I'd say about 50% is clear ))
In other words,
If you used eng as defaults (in your test),
Then both Top chess engines are played:
16 MB hash
1 thread
Move overhead: 10
No endgames
Anyhow there are some issues in your testing,
Which are still not clear (for our side) e.g
Large Page OFF or ON ?
Hyper-Threading OFF or ON ?
Ponder OFF or ON ?
Btw, 'Ponder' can be enabled/disabled by GUI etc.
So we do not know your test: Ponder ON or OFF
Actually if you share your 40 played games, then
It will be easier to see: Ponder ON or OFF )
Continuing...
If I was in your shoes,
I'd prefer for Blitz or Bullet:
- Hyper-Threading OFF
- Large-Pages OFF
- 1 Core
- Book: Unique
- Ponder OFF
- Hash 128 MB (Blitz)
- Hash 64 MB (Bullet)
- Move Overhead: 100
- 4-MEN Syzygybases
And running at least: 400 games (per player)
Meanwhile,
Why 4-MEN Syzygy (not higher)? let's allow less assistance!
Why Unique (not deeper lines)? let's allow less assistance!
Otherwise...if we'd give too much assistance..then
No much chances to see the real engine strength !!
I think as assistance (Evalfile) is enough..even
I can say too much..but we have to be in trend )
For further info please don't hesitate to ask...
Best,
