i love using LIlBlitzer GUI for engine vs engine testing.. and Im using your current settings to test my engins I use with different settinfs to see what plays best....I was hoping you could kindly provide a link to download the current testsuite EPD book u are using (EPD Test Suites\5000 8 move.epd)for this test as I would love to use it too and havent had any luck finding it anywhere.. thanks buddy..

Hi Chri$, I'm not using a book or any predetermined starting positions for my tournament. The conditions for my tournament are specified in post #1 in the thread:

40 moves in 5 minutes, repeating
Round Robin
Hash=512
Ponder off
No Book
All Tablebases on SSD
Syzgy bases are 6-piece, Gaviota 5-piece.
Threads=2, no Hyperthreading.
All are 64 bit SSE4.2 engines


Despite the lack of a book, there are a decent variety of openings being played, as can be seen in the PGN link. Even more variety than what is listed in the PGN can be seen if the PGN is loaded into SCID for ECO-classification using the SCID ECO "letter" extensions.

Ever thought of coding in Gtbs and Pers.hash to Sting- Stockfish by Marek Kwiatkowski? Think this branch interesting for several positions and could imagine it to be a specail one for corr. chess using PA_GTB's lerning file.

Is it possible with the currently available UCI options to get the following behaviour:
Stockfish uses the PH to read what has been learnt but doesn't write anything back. A sort of read-only/book approach.

You could set the PH depth to an improbably high number. Then it won't ever write, but will read.

Yeah, but is it equivalent to PH off in a completely new position NPS-wise?
