It's part of some carpentry instructions I found for building chess pieces. I believe that it's an unfinished bishop being held in a vice.

Actually it's not a vice, but a wood turning lathe. In my younger days, wood turning was a big hobby of mine. And i can say that the setup depicted in this logo is a recipe for disaster, since the turning is off-center, and is not attached to a faceplate at the headstock end.
