i told him about.he did not even remembered that his chess2001 machine was also sold as hanimex.
there was a game steinitz versus excel display. it looked like steinitz would win, he was ahead 4 pawns.
but in the endgame it was only 2 pawns in a rook endgame, and there excel turned arround the game and won.
in the next game between steinitz and advanced star chess was won will end soon.
i will post the games here.

Steinitz fought very good against several programs and is now leading the group.
i wonder how it would have been developed for chafitz, it they would have sold THIS
dedicated chess computer earlier. when in 1983 they promised to bring out
steinitz encore , it never realized. in 1984, which dedicated machines the steinitz encore would
have had to compete ? the novag super-constellation ? fidelity-glasgow, mephisto III S (glasgow) ?

in the top-game Chafitz Steinitz encore 4mhz vs. Novag Superconstellation Steinitz could develop an advantage,
but in the following endgame it could not win by supporting the pawns and pushing them. It seems endgames is not so good in steinitz program. it was a similar situation like in the game against excel display. Steinitz had problems to win the won games.
nevertheless Steinitz is slightly ahead in the group:
