Breaking News (06.02.2025):
Just another new CS.. this time as players are new releases plus highest
Rated are picked of recent LVI and here are the final rankings, Note also
That Tie-Break matches are played between SF-FAU vs Troubadour, due
Theirs points were equal (during official round-robin competition) And yes
Mr Eduard's engine (Troubadour) performed unbelievable superior strong
Under these preferred cond. On the other hand, SF-FAU as new incomer,
Managed to be 2nd rank, really can be counted as shocking news, since
In current tour, there are many serious players.. In fact, as we see, again
Contact, CorChess etc are one of strongest engines! Btw, Kookaburra and
Private 19Sf are oldest, released many months ago...but still among best!
One thing more, against any confusions, DON v3.1 is a engine (not a book)
Meanwhile, please stay tuned:..very soon a new NON-NNUE CS is coming..
Ok dear chess friends, that's all for now, congrats and many thanks to all!

The Champion: Troubadour 1.5a - My Congratulations to Eduard Nemeth!

Thank you Sedat !

It proves once again, that Eduard is right.

Troubadour in first place!
SF-FAU in second place!
SF in penultimate place.

Too bad that the SF team doesn't take into account Eduard's improvements...

You are welcome Zam )

I really admire Eduard's engines, they're not only super
Strong in game-play, but also in analyzing mode as well!

About Stockfish dev. releases,
In almost each releases, SF team announces improvements,
But not always theirs pre-Elos are reflecting to the reality!

For example, there are many older versions, which are still
Performing better... but anyhow, let's be more optimistic,
And if Stockfish dev did not win today, why not tomorrow ?)

And thank you for your interest...

Meanwhile,
Another interesting strength test started
With one of the greatest chess engines !!

Private 19Sf is playing via fast 15sec + 0.5sec,
Where the Others are playing via 1min + 0.5sec

Note: Private 19Sf is over than 3810+ Elo,
Where his opponents are close to 3750+ Elo

And why Private 19Sf used as main engine ?
Because is one of best, super strong, plus
Suitable for book tours, since futures small
Size.. and is this all? not of course, besides,
P19SF is capable to use bin book formats etc.

And here are first Gauntlet results of
Private 19Sf 15s+0.5s Vs Others 60s+0.5s

Code: Select all

Rank Name Elo +/- Games Score Draw
   0 Private 19Sf 0 0 4 50.0% 100.0%
   1 Zeus 26.5 0 0 1 50.0% 100.0%
   2 ShashChess 32 0 0 1 50.0% 100.0%
   3 Raubfisch SC 0 0 2 50.0% 100.0%
   4 Obsidian 15 nan nan 0 nan% nan%
   5 Kayra 16 nan nan 0 nan% nan%

4 of 500 games finished.
By the way, any guess over...? who will win ?)
In other words, do you expect that Others or
P19Sf will perform better than 50%+ win. perc.?

UPDATE

Well, the Strength Tests completed and just as alternative, I realized
To include another beast: SF-PB 221124...and frankly, just amazing..!!
As we see, even at 15s+0.5s: 3800+ Elo engines are really not so weak!

By the way,
In past, to produce quality games: we were running 40/120, 90m+30s etc
Nowadays, via NNUE: even at 15s+0.5s can be counted as Slow TC in past!
Or as other logical comparison, it seems fast Bullet 15s+0.5s of 2025 year
Is close in strength to Blitz 2022 or is close in strength to 1m+0.5s 2023!

And once more,
The ones (Private 19Sf plus SF-PB 221124) are played at 15s+0.5s vs
Others, where they used to play via slower Bullet TC: 1m+0.5s !

Code: Select all

Rank Name Elo +/- Games Score Draw
   0 Private 19Sf 2 11 500 50.3% 87.0%
   1 Zeus 26.5 17 26 100 52.5% 85.0%
   2 ShashChess 32 14 19 100 52.0% 92.0%
   3 Kayra 16 7 19 100 51.0% 92.0%
   4 Obsidian 15 -10 24 100 48.5% 87.0%
   5 Raubfisch SC -38 31 100 44.5% 79.0%

500 of 500 games finished.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank Name Elo +/- Games Score Draw
   0 SF-PB 221124 13 9 500 51.9% 90.6%
   1 Zeus 26.5 3 15 100 50.5% 95.0%
   2 Kayra 16 -10 23 100 48.5% 89.0%
   3 Obsidian 15 -14 23 100 48.0% 88.0%
   4 ShashChess 32 -17 20 100 47.5% 91.0%
   5 Raubfisch SC -28 21 100 46.0% 90.0%

500 of 500 games finished.

Conditions for 15s+0.5s:
2x Epyc 7B12, CuteChess, Ponder OFF, 15s+0.5s, 1 Core, 32 Hash, 4 MEN
Conditions for 60s+0.5s:
2x Epyc 7B12, CuteChess, Ponder OFF, 60s+0.5s, 1 Core, 64 Hash, 4 MEN

GAMES:

Note also that,
The database contains draw tests too, simply to see which are less drawish..
Where JigSaw v5.9 seems to be less Drawish, at least than SF-PB eng series,
But this is also true that SF-PB 221124 is stronger than JigSaw plus P19Sf...

Have fun and enjoy with latest results )

Breaking News (08.02.2025):
Well, since a long time there was no similar tour, to be in Classical cond.!
And as I expected, since a long time there is no much Elo improvements.
And as we see, almost all of latest engines are focused only over NNUE
Improvements, anyhow no regret.. moreover, I think that time to time,
It's worth giving a try and who knows? perhaps one day, we'll see NON-NN
To pass 3650+ Elo barrier..but it seems, it is hard, since 2020, almost all
Top programmers switched to NNUE (playing with previous trained data)
Anyhow, enjoy with the latest tour's results where Polyfish's Stockfish XI..
Performances are outstanding, Btw, Cfish 030820 (9-times Champ) could
Not be as 10-times Champion but I guess, if as MP + Blitz, situation may
Changed.. for example, Cfish MP proved to be so, for older tour: Results
Maybe later...I may organize a new MP Tour, but I don't want to promise.
Meanwhile, it is interesting to point out also that some of the engines are
More Drawish or just opposite less Drawish..minus plus 10% differences..
And I wonder why? if not clear: here you can't blame only Unique lines!)
On other hand, about 70% draws are quite acceptable, even Super GMs,
Sure with Classical time controls.. theirs draws are minus plus 65%-70%

NON-NNUE Champion: Polyfish 070623 - Congratulations to Khalid Omar!
