It's interesting to see that online opening lines from bots are not really optimized.

I noticed this, when I analyzed a little more than 2000 wins games, at the end of 2023, from Lichess bots. I kept only 40 interesting lines for my OPTIMUS database, that's very few. I realized that a lot of bad opening lines from Lichess wins came from opponents that have more than 20 ELO differences. It's clear that even with a bad opening line, a bot with 20 ELO higher than opponent, may win.

This tour is a really good idea.

And happy to see 2 public books at first takings.

Best regards.
The way that i do it. I set elo for white and black as 2800 so that any games having bots who are below 2800 won't be included when i filter out!
It sounds good....but what about who gained
2800+ Elo points via Cherry Pıcking System ??

In other words,
Do you believe that these players are using high quality, superior strong openings ?

Greetings )
The thing is i don't just go for any bot. am selective.....
Bots such as Reinforcement trial, raspfish, torombot, Resolute etc are legitimate bots ;)

Tunafish version 1 was created with Reiforcementrial games alone! 8-)

Another update, 13 entries...again many of them are tuned / optimized to
Prefer Online players openings e.g so far TorBot v2 performance is best
Sure I refer about all my created Online books..on other hand, we have 2
New very strong entries: Pyramid by Angel Morano and HCan-Attack by
Hamdullah Can..both Top books are serious opponents to be next Champ
Note also that HCan-Attack and Pyramid will be played min 2000 games..
To be more clear, any of Top 10 will contain min 2000 games (per player)
In this way, Error margin will be less about determining who is best of best
For anyone missed, theirs games will be send sure if request by the authors
Otherwise, no much chances to be tuned...and to perform better...right ?!)
Btw 3 former Champs (DON Hercules,Everest,Red Dragon) entered too,
Simply just out curiosity...and frankly nowadays we can not much expect..
Because as I stated earlier they are old-dated..especially DON Hercules's
Openings are oldest in this tour..but the greatest record belongs to DON...
If not so clear, I mean 6-months old openings to be 6-times Champion!
And let Me say please some words for Everest as 5-months old openings
Still among one of best ranks..really amazing..simply Everest is Everest!
And about Red Dragon..the smallest..just 256 KB (uncompressed size),
But this mini pocket Gladiator shocked many opponents on real Arena!

Current Champion: OPTIMUS - Congratulations to Roger Constantinesco!

Tunafish version 1 was created with Reiforcementrial games alone! 8-)
Oh.. now is more clear...

Because I was wondering why and how
Tunafish v1 performed better than v2

So they are two different to each other...

But next time please inform Me,
In case of totally different versions.. :)
Even would be not bad idea to give a diff. name
I mean against any confusions... right ?)
Otherwise, I was thinking maybe there is something wrong in my setup ))

Breaking News - 12.03.2024:
8 new entries, but almost all of current books are not my work...created
By other book makers...and unfortunately/finely OPTIMUS lost the lead..
But its great record will be one of Unforgivable. to be Public + Champ!
Btw, I was wondering Pyramid or HCan will be next new Number Ones..
But in late midnight hours..a newer DON vers is appeared on my email..
You know Vasid Chaohan, if not, I call him Father over book creations!
At least I can say, a man who never play for 2nd place..here results talk..
But anyhow.. sometimes any book needs a luck...so in the next updates
Everything may happen.. it all depends on next book entries..some may
Gain more points some less..we will see..on other hand, as usual we see
Same authors to be Champions...what about rest..?! anyhow it's all right..
Since it is a fun tour... no problem...and without to not mention this I can't
I'm pretty sure some may blame my used cond. such as 1 Core, Bullet etc.
But otherwise, just imagine such as MP, Ponder ON, using Blitz, Rapid...
What will be situation?? almost all players will be equal in points...in other
Words, many books are expecting to perform on same level as: BN XXVI
Yes..via MP, Blitz etc we'll see better quality games, but FUN will be dead!
Plus just in case...I'll be not able to run, test so many opening books too...
For this reason, under these conditions...it sounds not perfect, but ideal!
And to be honest, even current 95% draw ratio can be said as very high!
And sorry that I am not allowing to see 99% draws ) maybe next time.. )
As final words, please don't mix apples with oranges..some online players
Gain better points vs slower hardwares and they think as best of best... )
But in reality how much is true? forget everything.. some people are highly
Concentrated over X Eng outputs. but this is wrong in openings..believe Me
E.g X engine may show as plus 1 advantage..other one shows as minus 1
And now I'm asking all of you: which of engine/s are telling us the true ?)
To be sure, the best answer is that...sure according to my experience..run
Own book testings...with many games.. and check which lines are better!
