In 1990, as a 13-year-old kid, I wanted something different and started on a new chess-based game, called judtho. 20 years later, I'm happy with it.
For 2 players, play starts with an empty 12 x 6 board, players alternating to place 16 pieces in a 6 x 4 space with 2 new pieces (the Prince and Princess).
But the game can be played with 3 or 4 players on a 12 x 12 board.
Check it out at http://www.judtho.com
I'm looking for a programmer who could write this for PC and would be happy to negotiate a fee. I do believe this would be a great challenge for chess programmers as the programme would need intuitive rules to respond to what the (human) opponent(s) did!
Many thanks,
Rick
Throw the opening book out the window...
Re: Throw the opening book out the window...
Two things:
1. We would need a new chessboard with these many squares to play with. Unless of course we can utilize two chessboards. This would be preferable since I can't find anywhere else how to create this kind of board to play with.
2. For this to work...we would need three sets of chess pieces with one color different to distinguish the prince and the princess. This means one side plays with white and maybe natural colored two pieces to be the prince and princess. The other side plays black and has two red pieces to be the prince and princess.
Yes...you're going to need a programmer who can create this variant with the pieces in question. Right now, I play Gothic Chess with Smurfchess...which unfortunately is not available for download anymore. I'm lucky I found it when I did.
