Interesting things on PlayChess

Post by Eduard Nemeth » Fri Jun 23, 2023 4:32 pm

Interesting things on PlayChess:

You can be top on Playchess without winning even one game there!

How to do that you can see here:

Image
Image

The diagram shows his last 130 games. He has not won a single game, he lost one game in this time, but he is on the first place. How can this be?

This Proteus account plays every day and day and night on PlayChess. If you always challenge your opponents manually and make sure that your opponent has a better Elo, you will slowly but surely climb up the rankings by playing only draws.

Why doesn't everyone play like that? If every player would play only against better Elo, then it would logically never come to played games, because everyone wants to play better only against better and because before the first-placed no better player stands. Everybody would always just wait, day by day, haha...
Peace be with you!

Hi Eduard!

I really don't understand why they're doing this. It doesn't make sense, it's not fun.

Regards.

He does the same at Lichess!

All of his bots play against bots rated 400-500 elo than his bots... This is considered rating manipulation but he (AlexChess) doesnt even care...

There is a leaderboards team already which has the aim to be a bots rating list: https://lichess.org/team/leaderboard-of-bots from which all of this bots are banned since he is considered to farm rating continously (he keeps doing it as of now).

After this, he created a SEPARATE team just to include all of this bots in the top of the rating lists.. and copied my work! . (I coded some scipts to automatically create the rating lists using the Lichess API)

I dont even understand what is the point of doing this actually...

I tried to upload a Dark SisTer bot a few months ago, but for reasons of work and travel and surgeries I did not have the time, it is good to know, better to be away. I do not understand the point, as you win you lose!.

I suspect that it is about some business, about money. Otherwise I can't explain that someone has been playing on PlayChess day and night for 8 months, choosing only the manual mode and only caring about getting a high Elo. In principle, this guy is not about playing. It's just about bragging, and the punchline is that on PlayChess it is unfortunately possible to become first with zero winning games (and even losing games). ChessBase should do something about it, because such accounts destroy the game server.
Peace be with you!

In principle, they cannot force anyone to play a specific modality. But if you don't play, I think that before on chessbase they removed you from the ranking list. Really, I don't think someone can be in front of the pc ruling out who they play or don't play against. But there is a rule about the game formulas. In any case, this does not happen in infinitychess, since I play in both places and more than 2600 there is almost no one or no one in blitz.

Of course, many of us leave an open formula, as is my case, 0- forwards, since the objective is the same as 20 years ago, to check the strength of the different chess engines. But in playchess in the machine room before there was always a sysop, and now I at least see almost none or none.

Jorge

Unfortunately, I can't see your photos.

In principle, everyone can play as he wants. If everyone would block such accounts as these of ProteusSF, then ProteusSF would have no more opponents. He only plays against better placed players without winning a single game. Example: Detlef Uter (the most honest player on the ChessBase server) lost 4 games almost in a row yesterday because of a BUG in the ChessBase software (update 17 of Fritz 18).

I helped Detlef yesterday and now he is playing very well again (by the way I want to mention that he is playing with my CTG book and I like to help such people).

He had slipped to the last place yesterday. If all people would play like ProteusSF, Detlef would still be on the last place today. But he won some games today because most of the players are honest and no cheaters. He conquered place 1 today.

The snowiest account on PlayChess is ProteusSF. After Detlef Uter came to rank 1, he was suddenly challenged to a duel by ProteusSF - so that ProteusSF wins single points with draw games. This ProteusSF account does not play in autoplayer mode, it asks every opponent manually. This can be set in the options and in the formula.

Here you can see that Proteus only plays against better Elo, if Detlef had less Elo, he would never play against ProteusSF:
Image

In my eyes ProteusSF is a weak engine, I always write honestly, and this is my honest opinion!

Better engine won today:

Now he lost against Detlef Uter today, now he has to win points by draws again, and Detlef is on the first place. By the way, Detlef plays only with a Laptop! I will tell him that he should ignore ProteusSF. If someone wants to play against me only when I am better than him and not otherwise, then that is lousy and very rude!!

One more thing: It doesn't make any more fun on PlayChess. Because of people like ProteusSF. Tonight only a few have played. Currently only 26 people are playing. What fun is there, if there are more and more dishonest players? SAD!
Peace be with you!

One more thing: The rating list of PlayChess should not be taken too seriously. Many games are lost due to disconnects. Many games are lost due to software BUGs. In total, more games are lost/won by losses on time, BUGs and disconnetcs than by normal games.

The current list:

I wish Dark Sister all the best, but sometimes the table is deceiving.

Someone tested today the new CrystalMZ engine (I don't know it) today, and probably forgot to implement the correct NNUE. Then the engine plays like without net and that is not the same as Classic mode. The engine then evaluates totally wrong. While Stockfish crashes without network, this is not the case with MZ engines.

Here are two rated games from the server, Auryn got a gift victory:

He won 3x against a BUG in the software Mustafacanseven and feels like the king (similar to ProteusSF).
Peace be with you!
