Bruce as in Bruce Moreland? Because he COMPLETELY rewrote all the gnuchess code he borrowed to start with. He sent me this code years ago to take a look to see what I thought. My statement parrots what Bruce has said, and he DID say he rewrote EVERYTHING. So I am not sure exactly what point you are trying to make above. There was NO gnuchess source in ferret, he did say he rewrote everything, His web page seems to say exactly the same thing. So where are you trying to go here???
