Are such bugs fixed in all current testsuites on your website ? Anyway ChessGUI shall reveal them.
Matthias.
I ran the Bobcat STS test, and when I open the STS_HTML file, I get the "STS result file not found", even though there's set of files starting with bobcat_t1e_Table...... bobcat_t1e_TmpResult0000001... etc within the same folder.
ChessGUI is back.

ChessGUI is now stubbornly rock-solid indeed. lolkingliveson wrote:... if you wait too long, it might become harder to port. And I recall one time you were considering releasing the source out of frustration -- disappointingly, your frustration level decreased.

For easier use, create a folder and put only STS_HTML and table files into it.Matthias Gemuh wrote:Load bobcat_t1e_Table.txt (the only file needed) into STS_HTML.Swaminathan wrote:

BTW, keep such table files for a tool I may release within 3 days.

Re: ChessGUI is back.
Have the names of STS testsuites been standardized to STS1.epd, STS2.epd, STS3.epd, etc. ?Matthias Gemuh wrote: BTW, keep such table files for a tool I may release within 3 days.
Note that STS01.epd, STS02.epd, STS03.epd, ... STS10.epd, STS11.epd, STS12.epd, etc. is easier to parse and compare.

No, it's not standardised, I just loaded the epds from the STSstat 3.2 folder (since it's the ony folder with STS epds that I have)Matthias Gemuh wrote:Have the names of STS testsuites been standardized to STS1.epd, STS2.epd, STS3.epd, etc. ?Matthias Gemuh wrote: BTW, keep such table files for a tool I may release within 3 days.

I will rename the files to 01, 02.. and place them in ChessGUI folder.
Best,
Swami

The coming STS tool will assume standardised names STS01.epd, STS02.epd, STS03.epd, ... STS10.epd, STS11.epd, STS12.epd, etc.Swaminathan wrote:No, it's not standardised, I just loaded the epds from the STSstat 3.2 folder (since it's the ony folder with STS epds that I have)Matthias Gemuh wrote:Have the names of STS testsuites been standardized to STS1.epd, STS2.epd, STS3.epd, etc. ?Matthias Gemuh wrote: BTW, keep such table files for a tool I may release within 3 days.

That will make STS testsuites easy to use. It would not matter anymore in which order they are loaded in ChessGUI, nor whether all testsuites are present.

If someone was willing to work on the port/fork, would you consider releasing the source?Matthias Gemuh wrote:ChessGUI is now stubbornly rock-solid indeed. lolkingliveson wrote:... if you wait too long, it might become harder to port. The source code looks like it was coded by some illiterate child .kingliveson wrote:If someone was willing to work on the port/fork, would you consider releasing the source?Matthias Gemuh wrote:ChessGUI is now stubbornly rock-solid indeed. lolkingliveson wrote:... if you wait too long, it might become harder to port. It is almost 100% unportable Borland C++ Builder 5 code.
It breaks all programming laws (I am a mechanical engineer). Its program logic is insanely weird, and uses only one thread.
I read somewhere that Arena for Linux may be released this year.

Re: ChessGUI is back.
In such case, it will have to be a rewrite -- challenging but very do-able. But would be an interesting task to take on... Another point is, as a ME developing software, the code is probably more efficient than if a CS designed it.Matthias Gemuh wrote:The source code looks like it was coded by some illiterate child .kingliveson wrote:If someone was willing to work on the port/fork, would you consider releasing the source?Matthias Gemuh wrote:ChessGUI is now stubbornly rock-solid indeed. lolkingliveson wrote:... if you wait too long, it might become harder to port. Edit: Have you heard of Kylix -> Lazarus?
Is it possible/portable?
