Re: Rybka 4.1 Update released
Minor changes with a lot of bug fixes and no changes in search and evaluation, parameters mostly unchanged. Does that contribute to any changes in elo?

and oh I think we have seen similar updates to many engines. It does contribute to some changes in elo, perhaps its few.

There are some new parameters:
I've had it chomping on a position for a few minutes under CB and it hasn't stalled yet. That's a promising first sign.

Thanks to BB+ and Zach.
Their recent efforts must have prompted this release.

Hmmm ... I doubt that had anything to do with it. The first Rybka 4.1 beta was released to testers in November 2010.Matthias Gemuh wrote:Thanks to BB+ and Zach.

Does beta-testing always lead to a quick release ?bnc1 wrote:Hmmm ... I doubt that had anything to do with it. The first Rybka 4.1 beta was released to testers in November 2010.Matthias Gemuh wrote: Thanks to BB+ and Zach.

Parameters don't appear to be very straight forward.
I wonder if playing tuning games with these parameters is of any help.
