UPDATE

Blitz: 2m+1s, Ponder OFF, 1 Core, Balsa, 128 Hash etc

Sure for better conclusion we need much more games, but
It's clear also that both Top engines are close in strength!
If nothing else, I refer for these played blitz conditions...

Code: Select all

1 ShashChess Santiago +6/-6/=388 50.00% 200.0/400
2 Stockfish 17 +6/-6/=388 50.00% 200.0/400

It's my pleasure Homayoun :difus_19

By the way,
I do not know what is behind the mystery...but what I know?
Komodo is Komodo..a real master in slower time controls too !

Actually Komodo Dragon is not best only via
Recent tour (25m+10s) Adapted to WCCC !

For example (for anyone missed) during other NN CS XXXVII:

Just I'd like to add this as well,
But under Bullet, Blitz cond... then situation is totally different..
The powerful mystery is in the hands of SF + its based engines !!

And I'm not going to share all tours..because I may miss..but
You know.. SF-family engines won too many times for sure !)

Btw, here are not all Winners..but if nothing else the latest:

I completely agree with you, Sedat. Stockfish and also it’s family are the kings of short time controls. No other engine can compete with stockfish under short time controls. At least now that we are speaking about it. But may be in future Torch or some other engines can compete too. I hope.
Best regards

Well-said about Stockfish, the progress is on, especially under Bullet, Blitz,
But what about Rapid and slower timer controls? then even the old-dated
Komodo Dragon still says the last word !! sure via more games, then we may
See other points...you know...at least we need 500-1000 games (per player)
Sure here I refer for more accurate metrics..but my target was to adapt to
WCCC .. may be one day I may create a rapid rating ..after all time will tell..

About Torch,
As far as I know it is a private engine...so no any idea about it
But it seems (after checking some sources) is super strong too!
But is Torch useful for overall community? unfortunately not...

I guess that for new year( 2025) we will have torch in chess community as a public engine.

You can be right ..but just in case, Torch may be available, but for non-free!

Meanwhile,
Rofchade is World Chess Software Champion!
My Congratulations to Ronald Friederich !

And interesting..I've expected ShashChess S. to win there !
But it seems was not lucky..plus in 8 games (per player)
Everything may happen...

Yes, maybe. ;)
And who knows? maybe will be stronger than SF-family engine?
Let's say SF-PB 290824 SC ? Or maybe will be not...for example,
Nowadays I see no point for paying X engine, if weaker than
Free ones... in other words, my mentality does not allow it !)

Btw, about private chess engines,
As far as possible I do not care so much,
As reason, I already explained in previous posts!

And what a pity also that,
Majority of people are interested to mention the private
Than public ones...sad but true !
