You're right Jeremy. Whether you believe right or wrong in this whole ordeal you have to appreciate this fact that someone reported on it without any bias.

Re: Best Engine Testing Practices?
That is a pretty clever way to look at CPU usage. Also if any one knows of where I can find a large opening suite please let me know. I don't have much interest in making one. Thanks

Best Engine Testing Practices?
I was wondering what some of the other practices are of engine testers? This is the setup I use:
Ponder : OFF
CPU : 2.7 GHz Phenom2 (x6)
Operating system : Windows 7-64 bit
Cores : All Engines with 1 core
Hash : 128 MB
Nalimov/Gaviota : 5 pieces

Re: glass 1.8 released
I hope you don't mind I answer for Pawel, but from my testing Glass 1.8 is about 25 Elo stronger than Glass 1.7. I usually test at shorter time controls games/30 seconds so I guess it could actually be anywhere from 15-40 Elo stronger depending on the time control.

Re: Deep Rybka 4.1 SSE42 running for the IPON
I'm sorry but I have to agree with Uly...it is slightly annoying. I keep seeing this topic and other topics bumped. I open the thread and see some updates to a tournament I don't really care about. However it is nothing groundbreaking.
