Yes in my 500 game gauntlet Houdini 1.03a was clearly #1, congrats to Robert on a great engine.

It is a UCI engine or is it stand-alone?

I've been running a gauntlet for Houdini 1.03 x64 4CPU with my normal CEGT blitz testing procedures, and after 144 out of 500 games the current scores are as follows:

vs Rybka 4 x64 4CPU (3258) 10.5-4.5 70% !!
vs Rybka 3 x64 4CPU (3235) 9-6 60%
vs Stockfish 1.8 x64 4CPU (????) 7.5-7.5 50% ?
vs ...

Houdini 1.03a x64 4CPU on my Q9650 running at 3.8ghz prefers 17.Qg4 after a minute and 37 seconds:

In my private testing of the x64 4CPU version of 1.02 I had it 20 elo below Rybka 4 x64 4CPU after 500 games:

Even if it's solved there are too many opening variations for a human to memorize them all.

At CEGT Blitz one of our testers Gerhard has Stockfish 1.8 x64 1CPU at 3129 after 1000 games, 31 elo higher than Stockfish 1.7.1 x64 1CPU and 8 elo higher than Rybka 3 x64 1CPU, quite an impressive achievement by the Stockfish team. Rybka 3 appears to have been conquered, now only Rybka 4 and ...
