Re: New Rating List

Thanks. This list contains all the intresting engines. I like that the time per move is fixed in your games to exclude potentially bad and buggy time management. So only the pure 'analytical strength' is tested that is also the most important part of the 'playing strength'.
Interesting is that the ...

Comparison Houdini - IvanHoe - Stockfish

The time management of some engines is not optimal especially at super fast games. So I use 1s fixed time per move for my test. Now time management is no longer an issue. The new IvanHoe 53 does not run on my AMD-CPU. Therefore I chose the version 54 that is a bit stonger than version 63 and equal ...

Re: The Final Showdown: Rybka 4 vs Houdini 1.03

The suite is representative of chess as it is played in high level games
Sorry for my bad English, so you did not understand my question. It is clear that the 7000 position suite is representative. But if you take the first 800 positions this is only representative if the 7000 position suite is ...

Re: The Final Showdown: Rybka 4 vs Houdini 1.03

Hi gaard,

Did you test on single core ?

You say you take only the first 800 of a 7000 position suit. Is the 800 suit diversive, too? This is only the case if the 7000 suit is merged.

Re: New Rating List

You see the difference between Ivanhoe and Stockfish is much larger in my test. Possible reasons are:
-The difference becomes smaller with slower games like in your list
-time management is better in Ivanhoe than in Stockfish
-Ivanhoe is better 32 Bit optimized than Stockfish
-EGTB hurts Ivanhoe's ...

Re: New Rating List

Interesting. I tested at 32 Bit, single core, without EGTB at timecontrol 1/4'+1/4'', 200 fixed opening positions

Re: 32-bit Ippolit family Round Robin ( 6400 games )

This is the first test I see with sufficient number of games! Thanks. Could you test the newer Ivanhoe 63, too (www.chesslogik.com) ? From my tests it is around 50 points stronger than Fire 1.3.1. at time control 1/4' + 1/4''. But Houdini does not run on my Athlon. So I don't know what is the ...
