I had similar cpu: i5-4200U. I used bmi2 binaries and they were fine on this Intel. However I remember my laptop was very slim and because of that it had problems with overheating and throttling. I used it with only 2 cores for analysis without HT.

I can't explain it. For me the only difference between bmi2 and avx2 is speed. What cpu do you have?

Thank you. Kookaburra does not really have a special style. It is made to be as strong as possible. It should be similar to Stockfish but it does not have plenty of its recent patches. It is more tactical at short time control, at longer they should be similar but the latest Stockfish is probably ...

I invested a lot of time testing it, but in the end, it didn’t work as expected. 
Use v3.00 or new development Stockfish instead that should be stronger or any other engine you wish.
