Ivanhoe does not work for me in analysis mode.
What can I do to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Fabien's open letter to the community

Hi Fabien,

1. In your letter does "yesterday" mean this present time in Jan, 2011 or is this an older letter?

2."I want to point out something immediately: there was no mention of Rybka whatsoever. Indeed I was unaware of any relation between Strelka and Rybka, this is precisely what I learned ...

Re: Brief Q&A about Rybka 1.0 Beta and Fruit 2.1

While I am not chess programming savy enough to contribute to the topic here I very much enjoy reading what those in this field have to share. So when I logged in just now I was hoping for a lively discussion with Fabien, Bob and others. So I am a bit disappointed that questions posed about Fruit ...

Re: Fabien's open letter to the community

Incidentally, there are pictures of Markov and Osipov(?), see the May 9th entry for 2007 at http://www.sdchess.ru/march_oct_07.htm

There is also an interview: http://www.sdchess.ru/osipov_int1.htm
This is a curious exchange: 5. Еще один вопрос связан с Вашим публичным появлением под псевдонимом ...

Re: TCEC LIVE - Division I, Season 1 - All the top engines!

Nice one in Naum-Stockfish:
5r2/4qbk1/1p5p/pN2p1pP/PbPp1rP1/3P1P2/1R2Q1BK/5R2 b - - 12 46 It wasn't completely over after 46... e4! [and I think White could have aimed for a pawn-down rook and opposite-bishop ending -- maybe 47. fxe4 Rxf1+ 48. Bxf1 Qe5+ 49. Kg1!? Bxc4 50. Qh2 Qxh2+ 51. Rxh2 Bxb5 ...

Re: Houdini 1.5 vs Stockfish 1.9

Another test position with g4 and an unstoppable King side attack.

This was a win for Houdini.

Re: Houdini 1.5 vs Stockfish 1.9

Black (Houdini) just played Bd6-c5 and Stockfish won with Rxc5. Do other engines play Rxc5?
Also avoiding Bc5 one move earlier is a good test position.

Re: The cat's out of the bag

As a human I wouldn't go for the RR+6 vs RBN+5 with Nxa7 as Rybka did, as two minors tend to win these, especially when White has redundant majors. White's passed a-pawn (and then the b-pawn) ended up just being weaknesses, and after they were lost, it's going to be hard for White to hold on ...
