Re: Stockfish TCEC6 PA_GTB

Is there any chance of getting the PA_GTB stuff added to a fork of Stockfish 7?

Or does it already exist somewhere unknown to google? :)

Re: DON

OK, I'll keep an eye on https://github.com/erashid/DON though I can't compile it myself :(

Btw, on the page it says "0 releases", so I wonder where those get published? I found DON 1.0b some months ago, but maybe it's not an official release...

DON

Does anybody know if there will be any more version of DON or was it a one time celebration of Don Dailey?

Anyway, I quite like this engine, it's similar to Stockfish but seems to play the opening and middlegame a little better (at least in my opinion), SF 4 001 is still better in the ending, but ...

Re: Stockfish 4 PA_GTB

Sometime ago I tried two versions of SF3 GTB playing vs each other with the same hashfile. It worked fine for me, though after them following each other's analysis for 10-15 moves the defender starting playing other first moves than in the analysis. But I guess that was desperation as the position ...

Re: Stockfish 3 PA_GTB

When you get the time you may want to check up on the following bug I just noticed with the PH.

If say 43.Qh4-h5 has been deemed best by previously reaching the set ply depth for Persistent Hash, and black responds Ng8-f6 44.Qh5-h4 and then repeats the position with Nf6-g8 you get a quick draw by ...

Re: Stockfish 3 PA_GTB

Good to know!

Btw, if I've got it right SF 3 sets all cores by default and SF 4 is only 1 core by default. So, maybe that's why my computer has had troubles with 006 - 008!? Using only one core it seemed to use 10 times the memory...

Anyway, after setting threads to 2 there haven't been any more ...

Re: Stockfish 3 PA_GTB

By the way, I just saw that SF 4 is just out. Will you make a GTB version for that one too when you get the time?

Re: Stockfish 3 PA_GTB

I did this for about an hour. Use Persistent hash box checked but "0" as book depth.

It does indeed seem to rise slowly, in the "private workmemory"

Move 1
1-6 min 546 236kb
after 7min 546 244
after 9min 546 260
after 10min 546 332

Move 2
2min 546 336
8min 546 352
12min 546 476
37min 546 488 ...

Re: Stockfish 3 PA_GTB

OK, I'll do that in a day or three.

Btw, this seems to happen after very long games 3-6 hours for 30-40 moves. A few days ago I ran it with 2h each for 30 moves without incidents - (though most of those were won within 25 moves).

(Unfortunately, it and the others really need the extra hours or ...
