You should take into account that an engine could be smart enough to lead a game into a
theoretically won final position only to get a draw due to the 50 moves rule.
The 50 moves rule is an outdated rule introduced for games played by people. I see no reason
to use it for engines competition.

Well, my point is that as soon as the analysis changes from a 6 pieces position to a five pieces position the engine should check and see the result without more calculation needed to announce mate, which it doesn't. Of course more calculation may be needed to give a shorter or shortest mate but the ...

Houdini 3 pro x64 finds it instantly, and after a couple of minutes gives around +0.8 for white.
Lately I have been playing around with Houdini testing it in old historical games and it is really amazing when you realize the strength of this engine.
