Re: Deep Junior 12 running for the IPON

Clearly DJ12 is a generation ahead of DJ11.2, but unfortunately I can't buy it because the license does not allow me to test it against top rated engines like Houdini and IvanHoe.

Where does it say that in the license?

I don't have the engine but am sure you might get some more info on the ...

Houdini 1.03a. I use others, but this is the one I keep coming back to for its superb evaluation.

Re: Houdini 1.03a difference to Rybka 4 in analysis?

Thanks for the examples, Ed.

Houdini seems to provide better evaluations for endgames than Rybka, but I don't know whether this has much impact on Rybka's results and rating. I wonder whether there are types of middlegame positions where one does better than the other; or is it the case at this ...

Houdini 1.03a difference to Rybka 4 in analysis?

Rybka 4 and Houdini 1.03a seem to be fairly similar in strength. I wonder if anyone has examples of positions where one of the engines does better than the other? Please post below! :D

Thanks!

Re: WHY I Must Insist in the Idea of NO-subforum...

Re: Rating List Links

Does anybody have a proof that rating list ELO correlates to chess playing skill?

Or that the relationship between rating list ELO and chess playing skill is in any way linear?

Why wouldn't it?

No, it's logarithmic. The strength difference between 3000 elo entity and 2900 entity is greater ...
