I usually just use the computer for help with openings or endgames, in the endings, I set up positions and try play them out against the computer (without tablebases) then review afterwords and find my errors.

I like to analyse the games of the classic players (Capa, Lasker Alekhine) but this is ...

surprised no one has mentioned houdini is now being 'officially' tested by ingo bauer -- http://www.inwoba.de/index.html

currently in the #2 spot trailing rybka by 11 points, which is roughly what i'd expect. more games to go.

The only paradox is that the authors must believe it is illegal. Otherwise they wouldn't remain anonymous.

I'm not a programmer so I don't have the technical background to understand BB's report in detail, but it was still very informative.

In my opinion accusations ( from Vas etc.) without proof is empty words.
